Day Twenty Seven

Looks like it was a busy day at the house.  There were a few things that needed to be addressed that were finished today.

One such thing was the microwave vent. At the beginning of the project, both the husband and I agreed that the microwave vent needed to go out of the house. The previous hood vent over the range vented up in front of the cabinets. When we cooked, the greasy, hot air was shot up to the cabinet.   This led to greasy, grimy cabinets above the stove. That stuff is tough to clean. We didn't want that for our shiny, white cabinets.  So we shared this must-have detail with our contractor.

This is what we have now.  This is the view form the outside of the house.  That's where the grease-laden, hot air will exit when we cook.

There's also a drain and water going to where the kitchen sink will be when the countertop is installed.

The bedroom is getting close to done...

It's been mudded; it looks like it needs another coat, so not painting that this weekend.  But soon!

Tonight was dinner at the MIL's again.  It means we don't have to do dishes in the bathroom sink, plus the food and company are fantastic.  We had garbage bread and pizza.  Yum.

There was also cake!
