So who knew that I'd be blogging about my kitchen renovation for thirty days? Not me, that's for sure. The contractor told us two weeks initially, then bumped it to eighteen "working days", whatever that means; but this whole thing has been going on for thirty days. And I haven't even been counting weekends.
I guess this is normal. Everyone we've talked to about renovations has confirmed that contractors are notorious for misrepresenting time frames. I understand that jobs can go longer than anticipated, but I'm starting to get a little frazzled about it.
There are some changes today though. For starters, I'm missing a couple more of the sticky notes. It looks like they notched the shelf in the cabinet above the microwave. We put the shelf in on Sunday, and the cord that powered the microwave was in the way and the cabinet was propped open. The cabinet closes nicely now.
The furnace is still leaking, so we're watching that, along with the new toilet, and the roof. (The huge ladder is still propped against my house...)
But the guys were back in the bedroom!

There's a floor! I feel like I've said this before, but we're that much closer to being back in our bedroom! |

There'st his new trim, which looks nice. I didn't have anything there previously, so at least that's an addition. And it matches the current trim too. Above that is the access to the water shut offs. It looks really nice. Way prettier than what was there. |

Here's the top of the outside of the space. This is all trimmed like the rest of the space, and it looks like it needs to be sanded one more time. I was worried at first because it didn't look this nice, but they've fixed it. |
I'm painting something this weekend. Either the dining room or bedroom; possibly both. I may even be sleeping in my master bedroom by then!
