Day Twelve

The crew was busy today.  The under-cabinet lights were full blast, music was playing, and there was so much room!  I was totally pumped.

This was taken at approximately 4:17 today...sorry for the quality.  I was too excited about the lights and appliances.
Tip #10:  Spontaneous dance parties in your totally amazing, mid-reno kitchen may be necessary.  I don't know about you, but I have this rock-tastic happy dance.  It involves jumping.  That's what happened today.  To be fair, the crew had the best music playing, and the boxes of appliances were gone, and look at all the room for activities.

All of the appliances are in their homes, not in the middle of the dining room.  The lights are all functional (I would have a photo of the ceiling ones, but the breaker is switched off, and I'm not sure which one it is--that's on the to do list).  More stuff has been patched.  All is well.  The goal has been to get me some function in the space, so we can be a bit more comfortable.  My contractors are awesome.
Here's a better shot of the lights.  I dimmed them.  With the remote.  My under-cabinet lights dim, with a remote.  How awesome is that?!

The new range and microwave are all set up.  There's no gas going to the range yet; that's going in tomorrow.  The dishwasher is in the island now, but that's still floating around the kitchen, waiting for its permanent home.  The fridge is in its spot; the water line goes in it tomorrow too.  Woohoo!

The crown was also put up around the top of the cabinets.  That looks absolutely fantastic.  It makes painting a little tricky, but it looks so great.  The guys also finished putting the lights in the ceiling.

I have so many lights now.  There isn't going to be a dark corner.  This was a serious issue in my old, busted kitchen.
